received this from my wish list for my birthday this year...it's such a nice grill pan...works perfect for my 2 person family..retains heat so you can sear on top of the stove and finish in the oven keeping thicker cuts of meat from drying out...only negative is the weight, IT'S HEAVY, but i knew that when i put it on my wish list and it's a good trade off for this fabulous pan!

We bought this mainly to grill chicken breasts and steak during the winter. So far, have only used it on chicken. Holds more than you would think. I made sure to season it first, but of course it doesn't clean as easy as a Teflon coated pan. Well made. Price was reasonable.

......if you can't grill outside -- then this is the perfect answer. Have always been able to depend on cast iron - but this pan is fabulous for getting that "grill" effect.

I concur with the preceding reviews about the grilling ability, the weight, the ability to transfer heat and the seasoning.
I've read in a few places that you should not use soap on this pan. What I do to clean it is I soak it in hot water for 5-10 min to break up the grease, then I use a toothbrush (not the same one I use to brush my own teeth mind you) to get the stuff that really sticks, then I use a paper towel to get this residual gunk, then finally, I pour oil in the pan and use the toothbrush to guide the oil all over the surface of the pan. Works great.
